For My Groom...

(written on Jan. 10, 2010)

To my husband of one-year:

Thank you....

For loving Jesus more than you love me. For leading me to love Jesus more. For being a man of the Word, and of your word. For being an amazing friend and companion to me. For being a leader and initiatior. For praying for me. For all of the surprise dates, even the ones where I begged you to tell me where we were going. For still wanting me to dance with you, even if it's in the most embarrassing places (the grocery store, the sidewalk, the movie theater). For patiently listening to me as I tell you all of my lists and plans and dreams. For just simply smiling knowingly because you are aware that 80% of the things I dream up will either A) Never happen, because I forget about it, or B) Never get completed because I start it, and then forget about it. :) For encouraging me to become a student again and pursue my Masters. For all the pumpkin spice lattes. For calling me randomly throughout the day. Thank you for asking me to marry you. And thank you an amazing first year of marriage.

Happy Anniversary.

-Maghan

Here are some pictures from our anniversary!

When Matt and I were dating overseas, he gave me a rose for each month we had been together (one month, one rose; two months, two roses; etc.) Well, now that we've graduated to marriage, he gave me a single rose on our anniversary to celebrate one year.

We had planned to have the lady who baked our wedding cake make us a mini cake for the traditional "eat your wedding cake on your first anniversary" thing. Sadly, that planned failed. So we improvised...with ice cream cake! We love ice cream cake. Our sweet friends Nathan and Jessica helped us dig into a raspberry chocolate chip ice cream cake on the night of the 10th.

  3. April, yes the table runner and napkins are mine. :) I actually got them from a Christmas exchange though. A lady made them on her sewing machine. But I do know where she got the fabric, so once I figure out how to use my sewing machine, maybe I can whip one up for you!
