What I've been up to

A little "before" and "after" action for your viewing pleasure. Specifically, before and after final exams...

That's right! I've finally pulled out my Christmas present. My sweet family gave me a sewing machine for Christmas and, now that I have a break from classes, I'm FINALLY learning how to use it!

Here she is:



Now, don't be fooled by the "Project Runway Edition" sticker on it. I'm not planning to write in to Heidi Klum quite yet; my current goal is to simply sew in a straight line.

Also, a while back I received a special package from my family. A couple years ago, before Matt and I got married, I was helping my family clean out the basement and I found some of my mom's old sewing stuff--mainly some of her old spools of thread and such. Since I didn't really have a use for it at the time, I left it at home and kind of forgot about it. But then a few months ago, I got these in the mail:
