To my dearest Emily and Katie,
I was going through some old pictures today and stumbled upon these. They are from over four years ago now, during our first few months in East Asia. We had just gotten there and were pretty much scared and clueless...but we had each other and we figured it out as we went along. We were washing our clothes in fabric softener, because we simply couldn't read the labels at the store (I mean, the container had a picture of bubbles on it, right?). We had Anne of Green Gables marathons because we missed seeing trees and green grass. And hearing English. The first restaurant we entered specialized in chicken heart...I'm glad we found a translator before we ordered. We were eating more McDonald's than any human should, and missing home. I hope these pictures bring a smile to your face as they did mine. 我想你!
