Juliet at 2-3 weeks

How is Juliet already 3 weeks old?!

I've been reminded in the last few weeks that having a newborn means giving up any and all sense of time. I generally have no idea what time or even day it is. Honestly, I have moments where I feel behind on everything. There are people I need to call, emails I need to send, thank you notes I need to write. But instead of tackling my to-do list with great speed and gusto, I've been really trying to slow down and soak in this little face:

Yeah. She's pretty awesome. Juliet is a really sweet, sleepy, snuggly baby. She's just now coming out of the "newborn slumber" and is more alert with her eyes open for longer periods of time. We had a few hiccups with nursing during the first week, but she's eating much better now, for which I'm incredibly thankful.

At her 12-day-old doctor's appointment she was:
-7 lbs. 10 oz. (50th percentile)
-20 1/4 inches long (75th)
-Head: 14 inches (90th)

Most of the time, you can find her doing this around the house:

She LOVES being swaddled tightly, pacifier in (she actually takes a paci!), relaxing in her Rock 'N Play Sleeper. (P.S. Can I just say that this sleeper has become my new favorite baby thing?) Juliet sleeps in it every night and I love that it keeps her slightly elevated (helps with tummy issues) and I think she likes that it hugs her somewhat. It's really easy to rock it back and forth with my foot to calm her down.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to slowing down on life for a time during this newborn season. I'm so thankful to get to stay at home with these precious girls. Looking forward to 2014!
