The secret.

We've been keeping a secret from you...

While in Mexico, we discovered a little more than just good guacamole. On our first day there, this happened:

A little closer in case you can't see...

And how did the father take the news?

Let's just say he was excited.

The few days before we left for Mexico, I started feeling a little "off." Suspicious that I might be pregnant, I packed a pregnancy test in my carry-on. I felt really sick on the flight there, which is not abnormal for me on flights, but this time I kept telling Matt, "something's different." By the time we arrived in Mexico I was feeling back to normal and had fully convinced myself that I was NOT pregnant. But that night over dinner, I told Matt that I'd have a better week if I could just know one way or the other for sure.

So I went off and took the test and, well, before I knew it, I was reading the following:

Pregnant.

WHAT?!?!? I thought for about two seconds how to tell Matt in a creative way...and failed. And proceeded to just walk out of the bathroom into the room where Matt was, and tossed the test at him. He caught it, looked at it, and we laughed/cried.

This all happened on our very first night in Cancun. It was really fun week--knowing something so fun and life-changing that no one else knew. And because we were at a resort full of people that we'd never see again...we were by the third day liberally telling complete Mexican strangers because we had to tell someone! Our waiters Pedro and Miguel were some of the first to know. :)

And here are some pics from our last day in Mexico...around four(?) weeks pregnant. (Really thankful there wasn't much to show here since the baby was only the size of a dot :))

These pictures were obviously many weeks ago now. Currently, I'm just past 12 weeks along. Updates and pictures to come!
